Here’s what the retirehoppy podcast is all about. Picture two retired guys hanging out over a couple of beers. That would be me and Roy. We’re discussing a retirement topic that we ran across in a blog, or magazine or website. After we wrap that up we move on to talk a bit about the beer. Pretty simple, right?
When it comes to retirement one thing I’ve learned is that regardless of how prepared you think you are, you will be surprised and challenged! With so many people recently retired or approaching retirement, (would you believe that 10,000 people will turn 65 every day for the next 13 years), retirement continues to be a hot topic. Plus the concept of retirement is changing in part because we’re living longer. Our number one fear today is outliving our savings. And come to think of it, what will you do with all that free time? Roy and I may not have seen it all, but with over 12 years of combined retirement experience we’ve seen a lot! Additionally, I’ve run the retirementjourneys website and podcast for over 4 years which has provided me with incredible insights from many retirement experts. So in the first segment of the podcast Roy and I will share our experience and insights with you to help you plan, adjust or just get you to thinking.
One of the many reasons that Roy and I enjoy craft beer is because it’s very approachable and unpretentious. People, including us, love to share their knowledge and experience. So in the second segment of the podcast our conversation turns to beer. We’ll give our impression of the beer we’re drinking and a bit about it. For example, it’s style and expression, the brewery and how it compares with other beers. By the way, I estimate that Roy and I have over 90 years of combined beer drinking experience! Wow!
As time goes by I expect the podcast will feature guests from time to time and include some field trips too.
Whether you’re new to retirement or the craft brew scene, or a seasoned veteran, I think you’ll find something interesting, informative and fun in our podcast.
You can listen to the podcast or download it from the retirehoppy home page. I’ll make sure that you can subscribe via iTunes or your favorite Android podcast app.
So that’s what retirehoppy and happy is all about.
Time to enjoy great beer!
